The best way to motorize a bicycle

What is the best way to motorize a bicycle?
That is a huge question I think and one that needs to be debated. And that debate should never end. It should set up a system of competition among the engineers and designers of any products that would come to market. Instead of suppressing ideas the Internet should spread those idea's and decentralize them. That is why Augi's web ring idea is a good one for this small but growing part of cycling culture. I went by the gas station today and it was three dollars and nine cents a gallon. That hurts everyone. And a motor assisted bike is a way to fight this trend.
Right now the technology goes hands down to Golden Eagle Bike Engines for their pure simplicity of design and their great customer service.
The key to their system is their drive ring  and engine clutch and drive belt. No one else in the industry comes close to this level of technology and innovation.
I am living with this system through all kinds of commuting environments including rain snow and cold weather yet this system is super reliable.
The most important aspect of a motor assist bicycle kit at least for me is reliability. And I can say that GEBE is a very reliable one at that.
Total miles now over 1900 with a 25 mph average speed. Not to shabby! If I could pedal a real bike like that I would be at the head of the pack next July with Lance and the gang....

I am banned from this site therefore you will have to post content on this blog that you want viewed.
I am thinking of censoring any links to this site on my blog because of its policy's and your past behavior.

hello once again, "anonymous"...what i think is "BS" is someone posting on a guys' personal site and not having the courtesy to name oneself.

if one looks at the tone of the responses that come to these personal sites from members of the commercially-motivated sites, then one can easily understand why some individuals may feel a need to withdraw.

kevin is fairly new to the scene, and like a lot of guys, he is having difficulty digging the real stuff out from under all the confusion and BS that clouds the Motorsport lately. that he finds this task so difficult illustrates the point.

if you're comfortable with that mess, fine, noone's trying to compete for your click, noone's trying to make money off you here. but i ask you this...why are you criticizing him for maintaining autonomy over his personal site, while sheepishly going-along with the same behaviors from the dot-com'ers?

kevin: i'd just keep refusing to give credance to any site that foments such behaviors. threats and attempts to divert internet traffic for profit, imo, is surely good enough cause to edit out such content from a personal site, and again imo, only goes to prove that your assessment of the social situation may be accurate after all.

eventually, things will settle down, the commercial forums will go along their merry way, desperately vying for traffic/revenue as more important than the future of the MB, and then those of us who simply want to share our experiences, as MB riders who believe our vehicles are more than just toys, with others of a like mind, will be able to do so without being harrassed by those who have nothing better to do.

i admire your zeal, few are as dedicated to using a (true) Motorized-Bicycle as a real vehicle as you...and i look forward to coming here & reading about your day-to-day progress as a crazy-commuter.

i can't tell the difference between the two forums any more, so why should that matter? imo, neither deserves any traffic thru the personal web-ring.

how rude of you to sully kevin's site because you have a problem with me...but at the same time, THANK YOU for again proving the point.

Augi,

Thanks for your as always great information.
Anon, when did I ever say that I would ban you from posting here? I am just reserving the right to edit my own personal blog about motorized bikes the way I see fit. If I refrain from allowing links to certain sites so what!
I think that Augi and I are in the minority of opinion on motored bike riding and cycling in general. My interest in purchasing a GEBE was to add it to my transportation mix and the product is working out very well for my needs. This seems to be a problem with some in certain quarters. My personal opinion is that one of the best reasons to motorize the common bicycle is for transportation and these things need to be reliable.
